News and Gigs this weekend
Hi everyone, haven’t posted anything useful in a while. So here’s an update on what we’re up to.
Firstly, the EP is coming along nicely, if a little slowly. I’ve pretty much finished three out of the four tracks now. After I’ve finished the fourth and gone back through to check my work, I’ll be sending them off to an old friend for mastering John Xela, who has kindly offered to do it for me in exchange for some beers and a curry when next I see him. I estimate three weeks before I send them off and the rest is just logistics, artwork and waiting.
Going to be applying like crazy to festivals for next year. If you have any suggestions we’d love to hear from you and we’ll get on it. I’ve already applied to SXSW which would be totally awesome, if not improbable.
Also, we have two gigs this weekend. First one is the launch for new arthouse magazine Dirty Bristow. It’s shaping up to be a hilarious day of insanity based around the idea of a middle English Town Fête. There will be lots of silly games, comedians and music from us and Glatze who is a man as loony as he is talented. Can’t wait to see him. The gig is at The Edge in Digbeth, Birmingham on Saturday. The event starts at 6PM and we will be on stage in the evening at around 11PM. Entry is £5 and includes a copy of the magazine, you can buy tickets on the door or from the website I linked.
The second is our first foray into Birmingham’s pub circuit for Silent Filter Promotions who seem to be doing a bang up job thus far. We have info from them and the actually do promote their events which seems to be a rare accolade at the moment. The event is at The Adam and Eve also in Digbeth, it’s on Sunday night, starts around 8.30PM. We’re headlining and should be on at around 10.45 – 11PM. It’s free, it’s a bank holiday the next day and it’s a cracking venue, you’d be mad not to come for a dance!
Maps to the venues are embedded below.
We also have one more gig currently booked which is the Hallowe’en Monster Movie Challenge hosted by Emerald Void who made our awesome video. I’ll add some more details on that a bit later on though.
Also, running up to the EP launch, I’ll be redesigning the website and coming up with associated artwork. There will also be t-shirt designs that I’ll probably ask you for your views on coming up so it’s all busy, busy, busy!
Very exciting times for us though, much love and thanks for supporting us and turning out to the gigs. It means a lot. Might even have a couple of new tunes soon, we’ll see though =]
